New “Tilt” Rollercoaster at Cedar Point Sparks Fear Among Thrill-Seekers

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio — known as “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World” — is set to debut a terrifying new ride called Siren’s Curse, the tallest, fastest, and longest tilt coaster in North America.

Inspired by lake folklore, the ride lifts passengers 160 feet before stopping on a section of track that tilts vertically at 90 degrees, simulating a “broken” track. Riders then plunge through 2,966 feet of twisted track at speeds of up to 58 mph, experiencing 13 airtime moments and two 360° barrel rolls.

Cedar Point released first-look footage, prompting nervous reactions online, with many comparing the ride to scenes from the horror film Final Destination. Some joked they would never try a ride with a “disconnected” track.

While safety systems are in place, including over-the-shoulder harnesses, the dramatic visuals have even seasoned coaster fans hesitating. Despite the fear, the ride is expected to open in mid-June 2025.
